We’re pleased to announce that after a late night deliberation and one again this morning, we have decided on the winner and two runners up in our Figment Concept Album Contest.  We had a lot of great entries (26 in total), so it was not an easy decision.  In fact, the Top 3 changed quite a bit before we reached a consensus, but in the end we felt these three entries best exemplified the tenets of a “concept album.”  In short, their album descriptions, song titles and album artwork all supported a central theme.  For that reason they will be awarded the following prizes:

1st Place:

lords-of-winter

Lords of Winter

The Saga of Carus:  1.  Journey to Roh’Orn

by Javdoc

2nd Place

children-of-a-nuclear-winter

Children of a Nuclear Winter

“After the Bomb”

by daedae

3rd Place

alphahistamines1

AlphaHistamines

The Boots of Sharpened Blades

by theHoseman

Javdoc will be receiving copies of new concept albums from The Decemberists (courtesy of Capitol Records), Mastodon and Green Day (courtesy of Reprise Records) and 500 pieces of Lucre for his winning entry.  Daedae will receive a copy of The Decemberists’ new album and 350 pieces of Lucre, and theHoseman will win The Decemberists’ new album and 200 pieces of Lucre.

So congratulations to our winners and thanks to everyone who participated!
