Penetrate the Corridor of Shadows by Vorpal Queen

Date Released 8/15/2011       Sales 12       Listens 20

Quite possibly Vorpal Queen's darkest trip to date, PTCOS takes the overt psychotic frenzy of Psychedelicatessen and replaces it with a suffocating paranoia and sense of creeping dread. The songs are slower, more foreboding, shambling like the footsteps of the undead. The relaxed mind-expansion grooves of Return of the Vorpal Queen have morphed into fears of mental breakdown and insanity. If Cannabis Corpse was a gateway drug, this is VQ getting into the hard stuff-- total doom.

"The madness...the incomprehensible mountains of madness....glorious, mind-destructing pure doom. Disturbing to those used to the comparatively lighthearted stoner doom of previous works, can't wait to see where this rabbit hole (or perhaps the tunnel of something more sinister) leads!"

"Wow. I am completely blown away. And a little bit frightened! What is happening to our beloved VQ?"

FuriousGrace

"There are some great song titles on this album. "Kegless and Godforsaken", "Laudenam Labrynth", "Black Fog Tendrils/Choking On Air" and "Ethergoddess Kiss" being my favorites."

Eric

"Vorpal Queen's evolution takes you down the deep, dark corridor to a place where shadows spring out like mad funhouse giggles while inner psychosis wallow as they plod along in slow motion convulsions. You just may need a diving bell to plumb the depths of psychedelic grime delivered in this release.
The art is intriguing, the song titles draw you in and once there, you're completely bound up in their doom. "
