Band Bio
Stonekrank originally formed in Orange County, California in 2005. Front man David Stone and long time buddy Paul Donahue started jamming some tunes and decided that they wanted to complete the band. They found Mike Schmidt when they ordered pizza one night during a jam session. As a deliverer, Mike drove to their place and overheard them playing as he approached the door. When Paul answered the door Mike said that he had overheard their jamming and loved their sound. Paul explained to him how they were looking to complete their band and that's when Mike told them he played guitar.
He had been in several bands before but none of them really ever worked out. Mike started playing when he was only 12. He had never really been too serious about it but knew he had some talent under the surface. They decided to play together (along with a drum machine, because they hadn't found a drummer yet) and loved Mike's sound. It was right then and there that they asked him to join their band, and he accepted and left after giving David his card.
Mike was fired from the pizza place because he was late getting back (obviously from shredding too long during his tryout). The next morning David called him up and asked him to come to practice. Mike went and they really got serious. He had told them he was fired for being late and decided to get fully on board with this band.
They still had two problems: no drummer, and no band name. They then started to get creative and thought of several different names. It soon came to David that they would call themselves Stonekrank because it was not only bad ass but also resembled his last name, Stone.
Upon getting signed with TooMuchTooYoungTooFast Records, they were assigned a drummer, Steve P. Withers. They didn't all hit it off right away but they learned to accept it. The concept for their first album, The Image of Your Sorrows, had been one that they'd had in mind for a long time. The album didn't officially release until August 11th, 2008 and although looking back, David knows it's not the band's best work, but it was their first and it will always hold a special place for him.
The band has since released a total of 10 studio albums with their 8th, Ultimatum, being the most successful as well as Ronnie Jenkins' first album as the band's drummer. As a side note, original Stonekrank drummer Steve P. Withers had left the band for personal reasons. The Sparks of Summer 2010 left the band forming a legacy among the music world.
In Fall 2010, longtime rhythm guitarist Mike Schmidt also decided to leave the band, cutting Stonekrank down to three. Since then, both Mike and Steve have joined Red Flames Rising, while the remaining three released Alias. The album was different and interesting, igniting the Breaking The Silence Festival.
Stonekrank released their 10th studio album, Taking Down An Empire, which became the band's 4th album to reach the number one spot on the hot albums chart. They eventually toured the world via their Taking Down An Empire World Tour.
The band has recently reunited with guitarist Mike Schmidt and they released their 11th studio album, Rock On, soon after. They are even gearing up to record another new album soon.

Kranky As Hell (Didn't Sleep Well) - Single
Date Released: 4/4/2012
Tracks: 2 The second official single off Stonekrank's latest, Kranky. This is pretty much the title track and one the heaviest songs on the album. As the title implies, it's one of those purely pissed off songs (think along the lines of Limp Bizkit's "Break Stuff"), but more of a screaming style than rapping. We all have those moments when we just wanna punch a whole in the wall. Those are the days when nothing seems to go your way, from the moment you wake up, hence the "Didn't Sleep Well" part. This song is a great way to blow off some steam and makes for a great mosh-pit, when played live. It definitely has similarities to other Stonekrank tracks, but they've never written a song quite like this before. "Kranky As Hell" is full of aggression and sick drum beats. It also has some pretty jammin' guitar riffs courtesy of Mike Schmidt. Lyrically, this song is catchy and fun to sing along to, although very fast paced. *Turn this disc over to side 2 and place in any computer or DVD player to see the brand new music video for this song, which the band just filmed last week. See all of ya on the Tour of Destruction. Enjoy! David Stone-Lead Vocals/Rhythm Guitar Paul Donahue-Bass/Backing Vocals Mike Schmidt-Lead Guitar Ronnie Jenkins-Drums Released by TooMuchTooYoungTooFast Records |

Kranky (Deluxe Edition)
Date Released: 2/29/2012
Tracks: 20 Stonekrank's 13th studio album, and long-awaited follow-up to Requiem, is finally here. As the name implies, Kranky is one of the more angry SK records. On the flipside, this record is balanced out by a few slower songs. The band took their time with this one and hopefully it pays off. "Shout it Loud" is another hard rock anthem sure to get you pumped up for anything. The song is about voicing your opinion and taking a stand. Songs like "Kranky As Hell (Didn't Sleep Well)", "Somebody Break Something", and "Bullet In My Brain" rock hard with the bands signature sound that we're all used to by this point. Ballads like "Disguises", "Danyell", and "Heaven's Touch" should put you in a bit of a more mellow mood. At the same time, these songs are all very enjoyable and the lyrics are really catchy. This Deluxe Edition of Kranky features the 10 original songs recorded for the album plus 4 bonus tracks including the band's already-heard cover of Seether's "Country Song". As a special added bonus, the band also included a hidden bonus track cover of AC/DC's "It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock n' Roll). They weren't originally going to release it on this album, but went ahead and did it anyway since they have recently become the new Top Band! The guys had been promising themselves they'd release it if they became the Top Band and now they are. Enjoy! Disguises (Single)
Date Released: 2/11/2012
Tracks: 1 Stonekrank's latest single, "Disguises", is finally here. Be sure to also keep an eye out for their new album, Kranky - available February 29th, 2012. "Disguises" is different because this is the first time the band has released a ballad as the first single. This track is very good, though, lyrically and ryhthmically. The mainly acoustic song is about knowing who your true friends are and who the two-faced backstabbers are. It's a message to stay true to yourself and keep your independence, but most of all a reality check. the band is: David Stone-Lead Vocals, Rhythm Guitar Paul Donahue-Bass, Backing Vocals Mike Schmidt-Lead Guitar Ronnie Jenkins-Drums Recorded at TooMuchTooYoungTooFast Records |

Date Released: 11/7/2011
Tracks: 1 As a tribute to the single most influential band to Stonekrank, they cover Seether's 2011 hit single "Country Song" off their latest album, Holding Onto Strings Better Left to Fray. "Seether is a great band and, among the massive array of hits they've written, 'Country Song' is a smash single that we just couldn't pass up an opportunity to cover." -David Stone David Stone-Lead Vocals/Rhythm Guitar Paul Donahue-Bass/Vocals Mike Schmidt-Lead Guitar Ronnie Jenkins-Drums Recorded at TooMuchTooYoungTooFast Records |
